Led by one of our Wine Specialists, join us for a private and informative tour & tasting of our current wines from both the Gainey Estate Vineyards in Santa Ynez and Evan’s Ranch Vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills. Subjects will be wide-ranging covering all aspects of viticulture, winemaking, terroir, and all things vinous. This experience will be complemented by a curated selection of California Cheese and Charcuterie with all the accouterments featuring local dairies, purveyors, and freshly baked bread. Please allow 75 – 90 minutes for this experience.

Evan’s Ranch Vineyard Private Tour & Tasting, Sta. Rita Hills
Led by one of our Wine Specialists, join us for a private immersive tour of Evan’s Ranch, our Estate vineyards in the Sta. Rita Hills, followed by a detailed and informative tasting of our current wines from Evan’s Ranch Vineyard. We will walk through specific blocks tasting wines grown from those same exact blocks. Subjects will be wide-ranging covering all aspects of viticulture, winemaking, terroir, and all things vinous. This experience will be complemented by a curated selection of California cheeses and charcuterie with all the accouterments featuring local dairies and purveyors. Please allow 75 – 90 minutes for this experience.

1891 Barn Private Tour & Tasting
Dating back to 1891, the historic barn at Gainey Estate Vineyards is a wonderful reminder of the timelessness of old California. Led by one of our Wine Specialist, guests will be driven through the vineyards to a private seated tasting where we will have a detailed and informative selection of curated wines from both the Gainey Estate Vineyards in Santa Ynez and Evan’s Ranch Vineyard in Sta. Rita Hills. The tasting will finish with a side-by-side vintage comparison of our most celebrated wine, the Patrick’s Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon. This experience will be complemented by a special selection of California cheeses and charcuterie with all the accouterments featuring local dairies and purveyors. Please allow 90 minutes for this experience.

Terroir Private Tour & Tasting
Geek Alert. Join our Estate Director, Stephen Janes, in our Private Cellar for a detailed tasting focusing on the concept of terroir, a French term used to describe the location and environmental influences affecting grape and wine quality. Using several different Estate bottlings, we will taste through various lots highlighting examples of wines grown in different vineyards and regions in Santa Barbara County. We will discuss why and what influences are affecting each wine’s aroma, taste, complexity, and quality with conversations wide-ranging, educational, and covering all things about winemaking and viticulture. This experience will be complemented by a curated selection of California cheeses and charcuterie with all the accouterments.

Patrick’s Vineyard Selection Tour and Tasting
Our most significant and expressive wine from the Home Ranch Vineyards in Santa Ynez is our Patrick’s Vineyard Selection Cabernet Sauvignon, which is named for 3rd Generation owner Dan Gainey’s son. Inspired from the legendary red Bordeaux Blends of France, this structured and very collectable wine perfectly captures the terroir of eastern Santa Ynez Valley. Grown on beautiful south-facing slopes that are composed of rock and clay, Patrick’s consistently delivers a quality of wine that reaches its pinnacle in its varietal category, rivaling the best in the state.
Join us for this special tasting and tour of the Patrick’s Vineyard where we will do a deep dive into what makes this specific block and wine so special. Conversations will be wide ranging and cover all things viticulture and winemaking, along with a varietal breakdown of each component that goes into the Patrick’s final blend. Using Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petite Verdot and Cabernet Sauvignon we will taste each wine individually and then finish this experience with a tasting of the actual Patrick’s bottling both its current release and as a special older library wine. Our tasting will occur out in the vineyard at the base of Patrick’s Vineyard, nestled amongst ancient oaks, accompanied by an artisanal Cheese & Charcuterie Board.
